Kate McKinney

Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Supervisor

Kate McKinney, LCSW-S is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and clinical supervisor who works primarily with women navigating anxiety, perfectionism, relationship stress, compassion fatigue, and major life transitions. With more than 14 years of clinical experience, she supports clients in untangling the pressures of caring for others while also learning to care for themselves.

Kate believes deeply in the healing power of attunement, connection, and shared joy. In sessions, she offers a calm outside perspective—listening closely, asking thoughtful questions, and gently cheering clients on as they reconnect with their intuition and develop a stronger sense of self-trust. She creates space to explore life’s challenges while moving powerfully toward lives that feel both integrated and ease-filled.

Kate’s clinical foundation includes extensive experience working with children and families, particularly within the child welfare system. Her trauma-informed background informs her understanding of attachment, family dynamics, and the lasting impact of early life experiences. She is trained in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and attachment-focused play therapy. She continues to work with children and adolescents when appropriate, supporting parents and caregivers as they navigate the complex and deeply meaningful work of raising children.

In addition to her clinical practice, Kate provides supervision to LMSWs pursuing clinical licensure. She is passionate about mentoring developing therapists as they grow their confidence, clinical voice, and professional identity.

Kate is licensed in Texas and offers individual therapy to adults and adolescents, play therapy to children, and parent coaching to individuals or couples. She accepts select insurance plans and private pay.
